Use of Vacations Banks

Vacation Bank: The number of vacation days available over a defined period for your employees to take a vacation.

Key data in Quebec

  1. Vacation entitlement: Vacation entitlement is acquired for a period of 12 consecutive months.
  2. The reference year: From May 1 to April 30, unless the employer or a decree decides otherwise.
  3. Vacation duration (in days): Established on the basis of the employee's period of continuous service. By law, the longer the employee has been in your company, the more vacation days they accumulate.
  4. Amount of vacation pay ($): Varies according to the salary earned during the reference year in effect in the company.

Procedure

At the start of the reference period
  1. Enter the number of vacation days remaining for the period,
  2. Enter the compensation balance in $,
Emprez will export to your payroll system
  1. Vacation days,
  2. Compensation payable per day of vacation taken.
For each new reference period, you must:
  1. Update the number of vacation days accumulated by your employees,
  2. Update the compensation calculated by your payroll system,
    If your payroll system is a partner of Emprez and an interface is available for your account (Nethris or EmployerD): It is possible to import the compensation information data calculated by it.
    If your payroll system is not an Emprez partner: you must manually enter the information (vacation days, allowances to be paid manually or in batches)
