GPS Zones Manager

The GPS zones manager is one of the tools that make the use of mobile phones more interesting when it comes to punching.
It allows you to define the perimeter in which the employee can punch. The accuracy of the GPS point is between 10m and 30m.

CAUTION: GPS data only indicates the exact location of the person when they punched, real-time tracking is not available.
Only employees authorized to punch on their cell phones can do it.

Ask one of our agents to activate the GPS manager option for your account. 
Only an administrator can create zones.
Once an administrator creates a zone, they decide which managers are allowed to apply that zone to employees. 

Add a GPS zone

Once the option is enabled, please access your administrator account:
  1. Click on Parameters menu, then on GPS Zones Manager,
  2. Click on Add GPS Zone +,
  3. Name your GPS zone and check the Active Zone box,
  4. Determine the acceptable perimeter for the GPS data (radius between 50m to 1000m).
    Please note that the perimeter cannot be less than 50 meters. If you accidentally select a distance less than 50m and save that selection, when you reopen the GPS area details, the distance will have been adjusted to 100m.
  5. Click on the latitude or longitude icon, once on the google maps map, locate your company,
  6. Save,
  7. Click on  then on Users that can use this GPS Zone to select the users concerned by this option, then click on Validate,
  8. Click on Save.

Using the GPS Zone Manager

Once you have established a zone, you can decide which managers will be allowed to apply that zone to employees.
You have 2 ways to use it:
  1. By associating it with a shift
  2. By associating it with an employee's position

Associate a GPS zone with a shift

Whether through the individual schedule, by Employee or by Position; in the work shift creation page, you will see above the tasks and function section: GPS zones.
  • Click on the corresponding small arrow,
  • Click on  to add the GPS zone that was previously created,
  • A window appears, select the desired GPS Zone in the drop-down menu, and click on Choose.
Here, the employee will not be able to punch on this shift unless they are within the defined perimeter.
Note that a GPS zone can be associated with 1 or more shifts.

Associate a GPS zone with an employee's position

To associate a GPS zone with a workstation:
  • Access to the Employee's profile,
  • Click on Position,
  • Choose the corresponding position by clicking on ,
  • On the right, click on GPS Zones,
  • Click on to add the previously created GPS Zone,
  • Select the GPS Zone from the drop-down menu, then click Choose,
  • Click on Save on the Information page.
When you associate a GPS zone with a particular position in an employee's file, each time the employee needs to work at that position, the GPS zone will be applied.
Here, the employee will not be able to punch on this workstation unless he is within the defined perimeter.
Note that a GPS zone can be associated with 1 or more positions.
