Fix cumulative premium

This premium is a fixed amount of money that is added to the employee's total pay if the conditions are met. It can be programmed to be paid after a certain number of hours. It will apply once according to the defined period. 
Example:
A flat-rate premium of 3$ is granted to employees when they work more than 8 hours a day.
An employee works 10 hours, as this premium is fixed he will receive 3$.
If this employee had worked 9 hours, he would also have received 3$.

Create, modify or delete a fix cumulative premium

  1. Click on Pay, then on Manage Premiums : 
    1. To display the premiums that you have already created, click on  (to the left of the type of premium concerned) the menu will open.
    2. If you don't have one, click on  to create a premium.
    3. If you want modify an existing premium, click on .
    4. If you want to delete an existing premium, click on 
      ⚠️Once deleted, the premium can no longer be recovered.

Set up a fix cumulative premium



  1. On the right, select the companies you want to make this premium available to.

  2. Name: Name of the premium

  3. Pay code: This code is the payroll code in your payroll system. It is with this code that the premium hours will be exported to payroll.

  4. Premium Percent or Premium Amount: The fix premium must always be in $. 

  5. Default premium box: The default premium allows the system to assign the premium to the employee's file without you having to select it each time. 
    However, in order for the premium to be applied by default, you must complete the creation of your premium by saving the changes.

    ⚠️ Please note that the employee files created before the creation of your new default premium will not be updated automatically, you will have to do it yourself manually, one by one or in batch. 

  6. Type of premium: Fix

  7. Period: The period lets the application know when to start counting add the monetary package to the employee.
    1. Daily: daily check
    2. Weekly: weekly check
    3. Per fortnight: verification every 2 weeks
      If you award multiple cumulative premiums to your employees simultaneously, be careful not to pay them twice. 
  1. When the sum of the hour's HH:mm : As soon as the employee's hours exceed the number of hours indicated, the lump sum is added to his pay for the period.
    Below, are different scenarios with detailed calculations:
Example - Daily / more than HH:mm

My fix premium of $5, for a daily check, when the total hours are greater than 8h. 

My employee is paid $15 / hour. 
→ When in a workday, my employee works a shift of more than 8 hours, an amount of $5 will be added to his pay for the day.
Here is my employee's week:
  1. Day 1: 8h of work in total
  2. Day 2: 9h of work in total
  3. Day 3: day off
  4. Day 4: 9h of work in total
  5. Day 5: 8h of work in total
  6. Day 6: day off
  7. Day 7: day off
What will be exported to pay: 34h at $15 plus $5 premium for each day 2 and 4 since it exceeds 8h of work per day for these two days.
For a total of $520 for the week 

Example  - Weekly / more than HH:mm
My fixed premium of $50, for a weekly check, when the total hours are greater than 3pm.
My employee is paid $15 / hour.
→ When in my work week, my employee works more than 15h, an amount of $50 will be added to his weekly pay.
Here is my employee's week: 
  1. Day 1: 8h of work in total
  2. Day 2: 9h of work in total
  3. Day 3: day off
  4. Day 4: 9h of work in total
  5. Day 5: 8h of work in total
  6. Day 6: day off
  7. Day 7: day off
What will be exported to pay:
34h at $15 plus $50, or $560 for the week.
Example - Smaller than HH:mm
When the employee's hours are less than the number of hours entered in the field, the package is added to his pay for the period.
My fix premium of $2, for a daily check, when the total hours are less than 4h.

Mon employé is paid $15 / hour.

→ When in a workday, my employee makes a shift smaller than 4hm an amount of $2 will be added to his pay for the day.                                                                        
Here is my employee's week: 
  1. Day 1*: 4h of work in total
  2. Day 2: 9h of work in total
  3. Day 3: day off
  4. Day 4: 3h30 of work in total
  5. Day 5: 8h of work in total
  6. Day 6: day off
  7. Day 7: day off
What will be exported to pay: 24h30 at $15 and $2 in premium for day 4, for a total of $369.50 for the week.
* Will not take Day 1, because it is equal to 4h, which is the condition of the premium as such. The premium condition is a strict condition.
Maximum HH : mm : Not applicable.
  1. Timesheet type to use: Each box you check means "Include this type of timesheet in the Total hours calculation"
    Whether or not to include certain types of timesheets is up to you.
  2. Will be applied on a Stat. Holiday: If your employee has a stat. holiday and another timesheet on the same day, and you want this other timesheet to count anywat, you must check Will be applies on a stat. holiday.
Example 1: The box Stat holiday and Applies on a stat. holiday is checked.

My fix premium of $2, for a daily check, when the total hours are less than 4h. My employee is paid $15 / hour. 
 
→ When in a working day, my employee makes a shift smaller than 4h, an amount of $2 will be added to his pay for the day.

Here is my employee's week: 
  1. Day 1*: 4h of work in total
  2. Day 2: 9h of work in total
  3. Day 3: day off
  4. Day 4: 3h30 of work in total + 3h30 of the stat. holiday
  5. Day 5: 8h of work in total
  6. Day 6: day off
  7. Day 7: day off
What will be exported to pay: 24h30 to $15, and 3:30 of the stat. holiday at a regular rate. Day 4 is not included, because the total hours are 7 hours (3.5h of work and 3.5h of the stat. holiday)
* Will not take Day 1, because it is equal to 4h, which is the condition of the premium as such. The premium condition is a strict condition.
Example 2: The box Stat Holiday is not checked and the box Will be applied on a stat. the holiday is checked.  
My fix premium $2, for a daily check, when the total hours are less than 4 hours. 
My employee is paid $15 / hour.  
→ When in a working day, my employee makes a shift smaller than 4h, an amount of $2 will be added to his pay for the day.

Here is my employee's week: 
  1. Day 1*: 4h of work in total
  2. Day 2: 9h of work in total
  3. Day 3: day off
  4. Day 4: 3h30 of work in total + 3h30 of the stat. holiday
  5. Day 5: 8h of work in total
  6. Day 6: day off
  7. Day 7: day off
What will be exported to pay: 24h30 to $15, and 3:30 of stat holiday, plus the premium of $2 for day 4.
* Will not take Day 1, because it is equal to 4h, which is the condition of the premium as such. The premium condition is a strict condition.
  1. Add position premium: Not applicable if the employee has no premium per shift.
  2. Use the premium part: Not applicable.

Awarding a fix cumulative premium

After creating your premium, you have several options to assign it to your employees:

  1. In the menu Employee > Create / Import an employee, select the premium to apply by default in Cumulative premium 1
  2. To remove the premium : Select the blank in the dropdown menu.
  3. When you have a default premium (check the option in the step of creating the premium), the default premium is automatically added in the employee's file in the boxes Cumulative premium.


Add the premium to existing employees

  1. In the Employee file > Remuneration, you will find your premium placed in a box.
  2. Click on Save.


View the details of the premium calculations in the timesheets

In order to verify the details of the premium calculations in your employees' timesheets, you will need to:
  1. Dans le menu Feuilles de temps,
  2. Check and approve the relevant timesheet,
  3. Click on  at the bottom of the window,
  4. The Gross Information detail for the employee's payroll will appear.
